Birdhouse In Your Soul is the fifteenth track on Live From The Haunted Candle Shop. Birdhouse In Your Soul is a cover of a popular song by the band They Might Be Giants. It was originally made and released on July 17, 2003.
Lyrics
I’m your only friend
I’m not your only friend
But I’m a little glowing friend
But really I’m not actually your friend
But I am

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I’m the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

I have a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It’s a simple message and I’m leaving out the whistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
Filibuster vigilantly
My name is blue canary one note spelled l-i-t-e
My story’s infinite
Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn’t rest

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
But I’m a little glowing friend
But really I’m not actually your friend
But I am

There’s a picture opposite me
Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free
Though I respect that a lot
I’d be fired if that were my job
After killing Jason off and countless screaming argonauts

Bluebird of friendliness
Like guardian angels it’s always near
Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
With the pickle mind we kick the nipple beer
All I want to feel now is the wind in my eyes.
Lyrics
It’s movie movie movie night, down at the theater
Let’s get some soda, I’d like a liter
I dun- I dun- I dunno what we should see
“The Osbournes Movie” or “Scooby Doo 3”

Let’s see… Let’s see…
Let’s just see any old thing
I like to throw popcorn at people’s heads
So, let’s just see any old thing

There’s lotsa lotsa lotsa films making lotsa revenue
“The Sixth Sense 2” got a pretty good review
Looking at the posters, and feeling kinda manic
I wanna see the preview for “Return of Titanic”
So, let’s just see any old thing

Big budget action movies for guys
Chick flicks and dramadies for the ladies
Hollywood’s rich and getting richer
But movies were better in the 80s

So what, what, what do we do with our money?
Should we see something scary?
Should we see something funny?

We could see Adam Sandler team up with Jackie Chan
But there is no way that I will pay
For any film that does not cater
To my miniscule attention span
A fiberglass monkey with glowing red eyes

Sometimes it hovers a couple feet above my bed
Tonight I’ll go to bed with a baseball bat
So wish me good luck, and wish me good aim,
‘Cause tonight I’m turning my fear into a game
A fiberglass monkey with glowing red eyes
A fiberglass monkey with glowing red eyes
I take a swing, I hear a thud
Now I’m covered in monkey blood

Lemon Demon is Neil Cicierega’s second major musical project, after he moved on from Trapezoid/Deporitaz. Stylistically, Lemon Demon has differed from Deporitaz in that Lemon Demon has mostly vocal tracks, while Deporitaz had mostly (but not exclusively, in its later days) instrumentals. Also, Deporitaz tracks were primarily arranged using synthesis and sound fonts; while these are still common in Lemon Demon, it makes more use of real recorded instruments such as guitar, accordion and keytar.

Lemon Demon Live
In live performances, Lemon Demon consists of Neil Cicierega on vocals and keyboard, Alora Lanzillotta on bass guitar, Charles “Chooch” Sergio on guitar, and Greg Lanzillotta on drums. Lemon Demon’s previous drummer was Tony Wry, who moved to Detroit, in turn leaving the band around 2008; Youmacon ‘09 was Lemon Demon’s first show with Greg. Lemon Demon’s live shows range from solo performances during Lemonic Demonade to larger concerts such as Awesomefest or Youmacon. Lemon Demon occasionally performed on Neil’s sporadic internet radio show, Hooray Radio.
I Know Your Name is one of Neil Cicierega’s first vocal tracks, and the only song released on a Deporitaz album that features Neil singing.

This song was later redone by Lemon Demon and featured on Hip To The Javabean. In 2024, Neil Cicierega uploaded a karaoke instrumental version of this song to the Lemon Demon website.
It was a Friday
I saw a movie but it wasn't very long,
so I snuck into another one
Employees caught me,
they threw me out into the mall
all in all, it was pretty fun.
But then it happened:
I bumped into a random guy, he said "excuse me" and he tried to walk away. (Walk away)
But I had just had a psychic vision,
I said "Sir, I don't know why, but I know your name", I said:

I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know your name is...

Your name is BOB!
Your name is Bob
Your name is Bob, I know

The guy said "Sorry, my name is Fred"
and then he slowly walked away, I never saw that guy again (again).
Went back to my house
Went to my room to feed my fish, which was lying on its back
So I gave it to the cat
When he was finished, I took the bones away
But right before I reached the garbage something happened in my brain
Well I had just had a psychic vision, I said "Cat, I don't know why, but I know your name" I said:

I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know your name is...

Your name is BOB!
Your name is Bob
Your name is Bob, I know

The cat said nothing.
And then threw up on to my freshly shampooed carpet,

I rolled my eyes and walked outside
It started raining, I ran for shelter in an alleyway that smelled as if an elephant had died
There was a box there, I looked inside to see a homeless man, dresses in rags, bearded and insane
And suddenly I had a psychic vision, I said "Sir I don't know why, but I know your name" I said

I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know, I know your name
I know, I know your name is...

Your name is BOB!
Your name is Bob
Your name is Bob, I know

(instrumental)
(played reverse in the instrumental:
Spongebob Squarepants
Bob Dylan
Bob Ross
Bob Hoffman
Bob Saget
Bob Marley)

The homeless man stared
He looked a bit scared

He asked me how I knew his name, I couldn't say
And it was awkward
He fell asleep, and I walked back home in the rain (in the rain)
But then it happened
Another vision came to me
Another psychic idea from my dreams
I knew I had to burn down the supermarket to achieve world peace
So I did.
Microwave This CD is the second album released as Trapezoid, later renamed Deporitaz.

For many years prior to 2010, no one, not even Neil himself, had any surviving copies or remembered what songs were on it. (Alora Lanzillotta may still have a copy but does not know where it is.) The album art and track listing were lost on Neil’s old hard drives, which he had searched but to no avail. Neil had previously posted a list of all of the possible tracks. Since the original posting, Neil put up a directory of Deporitaz downloads. The Microwave This CD folder, although organized alphabetically, was still significantly cleaner than the original list and was considered the official track listing for a long time. The cover art was usually represented by this Aaron Carter cover as an in-joke.

On April 12th, 2010, original WikiLemon user Jake (who had previously posted about owning the album) discovered the album in his closet and posted the proper track listing and album art. The real cover includes a single color (dark blue) illustration of a flower with a confused face. Above the flower, centered, is written “Trapezoid” in green followed by “Microwave This CD” in blue, in an awkwardly stretched version of the font Copperplate. The actual album art has never been scanned, however a fan mockup was made and has been used to represent the album ever since.
Trivia
* An alternate cover for this album exists, which has the text “Trapezoid kinda presents Outsmart?!?!” and a light green background randomly scribbled over. This is possibly the version that was released on MP3.com (making it the main cover), as it’s the only cover seen on a physical copy of the album.
