Archaeopteryx

Archaeopteryx is the eleventh track on Dinosaurchestra. An early version of this song was leaked prior to the release of the album during Dinogate.

Neil explained the song's lyrics in the album's text commentary:

"The narrator has a deep jealousy of birdkind's ability to fly. So he blames it all on the earliest known bird, the Archaeopteryx.(The hidden irony is that modern birds are probably not directly descended from the Archaeopteryx, which may not even have been capable of flight.) He hopes he can alter the course of history, and rid himself of the birds which taunt him in the present...by busting a cap in Mr. Archaeopteryx."
