Hip to the Javabean is the third Lemon Demon album. It was originally released on March 23rd, 2004, as homemade, burned-on-demand CD-Rs sold through the old Lemon Demon website[1]. Included on the disc as bonuses were a ReadMe file, 8 bonus tracks (a first for a Lemon Demon album), and the entirety of Clown Circus and Live from the Haunted Candle Shop.[2] Earlier copies of this homemade run feature a different disc label design than later copies.[3]
In 2006, the album received a CD repress with replicated discs manufactured by now-defunct company Americ Disc Inc. This version maintains the same bonus content as the original run.[3]
In April 2009, Neil offered the album for free download on Lemondemon.com, alongside Clown Circus, Live from the Haunted Candle Shop, and Damn Skippy.[4]
On January 21st, 2023, Needlejuice Records reissued the album (not including any bonus tracks) on Bandcamp to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lemon Demon. This version of the album was remastered by Angel Marcloid.[5][6] Physical reissues of the album are planned.[7]
