Kubrick and the Beast is the thirteenth bonus track from Lemon Demon's seventh album, Spirit Phone. It was originally intended to be the first track on the album as an instrumental opener (paralleling View-Monster), but was later removed the main track list sometime during the album's development and released as a separate single on June 30th, 2015. It was then added onto the bonus tracks for the album when it released.
"Kubrick and the Beast was supposed to be the opening track for Spirit Phone at one point, but the album’s tone ended up going in another direction… and I had to break it to myself gently."
