Indie Cindy & the Lo-Fi Lullabies is the 14th track on Dinosaurchestra. An early demo version of this song leaked prior to the release of the album during Dinogate.
The lyrics of this song were the inspiration behind the name and cover art of Acrobat Unstable Record, a 7" vinyl record containing numerous Dinosaurchestra bonus tracks not available on the main album's vinyl (including the demo version of this song), first released by Needlejuice Records in 2022.
According to Neil in the album's text commentary, the song's lyrics are about "a self-made musician with rather inconsistent confidence."[1]
Lyrics
Indie Cindy & the Lo-Fi Lullabies Released her first LP, Entitled “Moe Is We” To the private public just the other day, Through Cindy’s very own label, Acrobat Unstable Records. But the only chart That it even scratched Was in Cindy’s heart, Which would fall apart ‘Cause it was barely attached To anything other than Broken synthesizer keys, Cassette tapes and burned CDs. Indie Cindy & the Lo-Fi Lullabies Ain’t getting very big. In fact, her only gig Was pathetic even though she dreamed it up. In fact, it was a nightmare. The sound just wasn’t right there. And when she woke up. And when she woke up, That was when. Indie Cindy broke up. Indie Cindy broke up. She broke up. Not for artistic differences. She just tore her studio down. Threw her equipment around In cyclonic displacement, ‘Til it looked like her basement again.
Trivia
- In 2018, a lyric in this song inspired the name of a real record label, Acrobat Unstable Records. With the Needlejuice Records reissue of Dinosaurchestra in 2022, they were given limited quantities of both the vinyl release of the album and Acrobat Unstable Record.[2]
