Kitten Is Angry is the eighth track on Damn Skippy. It was originally released on August 11th, 2004.[1]
The song originates from a poll Neil held on his LiveJournal page the day prior, in which he gave 15 potential song titles and asked which ones his fans would like to hear the most. It won with 10.8% of the vote, barely beating out Elvis Porn, the title at second place with 10.6% of the vote.[2] It was written, recorded, and released only about 19 hours after the opening of the poll.[3] None of the other 13 titles ever became songs.
In the album's commentary track, Neil stated that although he owned many cats, that they act nice and not like the one portrayed in the song.
This was the second ever Lemon Demon song to be played on the Dr. Demento Show.[4][5]

My kitten knows tae kwon do. She can take you out, I know. I’ve seen it before and it’s not pretty. She’s really one ferocious kitty Cat now. (Oh, no.) She’s deadly. She’ll hurt you. - Neil updated the song's MP3 file at some point after it was originally released, claiming to have "changed some things", meaning a lost early mix of the song exists.[1]
- An official instrumental exists for this song. A remastered version was included as a bonus track in the 2023 Needlejuice Records reissue of Damn Skippy.
- According to the commentary track, this is the only song on the album to contain jaw harp.
